Casa Akai stands on the point of the Punta Mita resort, in La Punta Estates, with panoramic views across the Bay of Banderas to Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta. In season, whales and dolphins swim right past the lawn.
Inside, glass walls slide away so the living room, bar and terrace become one open space facing the sea. Two heated infinity pools, a hot tub, a rooftop bar, a cinema, a pub and a game room mean the group rarely needs to leave — though the Four Seasons' beach clubs and golf courses are a short golf-cart ride away.

The villa sits steps from a secluded rocky beach on the very tip of the peninsula. From roughly November to April humpback whales come into the bay to calve, and pass close enough to watch from the terrace with a coffee in hand.
Punta Mita is a 1,500-acre gated resort with two Jack Nicklaus golf courses, beach clubs and the Four Seasons and St. Regis hotels. Its waters are known for paddle boarding and surfing, and the Marietas Islands are a short boat ride offshore.
